Credit Card Details

All reservations for Mother’s Day, Father's Day, Valentine’s Day dinner, Melbourne Cup lunch, and New Year’s Eve are required to provide credit card details at the time of booking.

Cancellation or reductions

Full cancellation of a reservation for these events, or a reduction in the number of seats reserved is welcome up to 72 hours prior to your reservation. Past this date, an amount of $50.00 per person will be deducted from the credit card on file for full cancellation or reduction in numbers.


An 8% gratuity applies to all parties of 8 people or more. This goes directly to the staff.

Food and Banquet Menus

Our kitchen team put together a regular and a vegetarian special event menu for both Valentine’s Day dinner and New Year’s Eve. All reservations are required to select one or both of these menus for the table. A minimum of 2 diners per menu is required.

We require that groups of 10 guests or more preselect a banquet menu for their table. With the exception of vegetarians, groups are required to select one Banquet Menu for every guest at the table. Our Banquet Menus are served to the middle of the table for your guests to share.

Altering set menus to include dishes from the à la carte or live seafood menus can only be done with 48 hours notice and may incur additional charges subject to your choices. A member of our reservation team will call to assist you with your selection, or you can contact us on 9279 1170 to discuss your menu selection.

Please advise us of all dietary requirements prior to your reservation. We will do our best to accommodate requests, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Pre orders

We understand that some guests may love certain dishes at The Malaya that are prepared in limited numbers. To avoid disappointment on the day you can pre order those dishes when making the booking or by calling at least 48 hours prior to your reservation.



Due to the layout of the restaurant, tables of 10 or more will generally be seated inside in the main dining area.

Please note: all menu prices increase by 10% on Sunday and 15% on public holidays.
