New Year's Eve 2018

Bid farewell to the year gone by and welcome in the New Year in style. Relax and let our friendly and professional staff look after your every need while dining on a delicious 7 course set menu. This New Years, enjoy gorgeous waterfront dining at The Malaya just a stone's throw from the Darling harbour fireworks, or a short stroll down Hickson Rd to Barangaroo point for the harbour bridge extravaganza. 

On the night, we will be serving everyone a 7 course New Year's Eve menu. There is also a 7 course Vegetarian menu available. Each menu requires a minimum of 2 guests.

Please advise us of all dietary requirements when booking as we may not be able to accommodate some.

Children under 12 will be served a children’s menu.

All reservations are required to provide credit card details.

Cancellation of a reservation or a reduction in the number of seats reserved is welcome by 5pm, Thursday 27th of December. Past this date, an amount of $125 per person will be deducted from the credit card on file for full cancellation or deduction in numbers.

An 8% gratuity applies to all non-exclusive parties of 8 people and above.

Spanner Crab San Choy Bow
Spanner Crab meat stir-fried with water chestnut, onion, shallots, Malaya curry powder and fresh chilli. Served in a lettuce leaf.

Salt and Pepper Scampi
Lightly battered scampi deep-fried and tossed in fresh chilli, salt, cracked black pepper and shallots.

Barbequed Atlantic Salmon
Atlantic salmon, skewered, barbequed and served with a mango chutney.

Lamb Perchik
Marinated pieces of lamb skewered, barbequed and served with a sauce made from lemongrass, coconut milk, fresh chilli and lime leaves.

MAINS

Rendang Prawns
Prawns poached in a traditional Indonesian style curry with an aromatic dry coconut base.

Opor Ayam
Chicken Maryland poached in coconut milk, garlic, ginger, onion and aromatic spices.

Asparagus and Black Fungus
Fresh asparagus, honey peas, garlic chives, black fungus and mushrooms stir fried with garlic, soy sauce and chilli.

Black glutinous rice cooked with Pandan leaves served with thick coconut cream, palm sugar and fresh fruit.

ENTREE
Vegetable San Choy Bow 
Water chestnut, onion, mushroom, carrot and shallot stir-fried, and served in a lettuce leaf.

Salt and Pepper Cauliflower
Florets of cauliflower lightly battered, deep-fried and tossed in fresh chilli, salt, cracked black pepper and shallots.

Samosa 
A mixture of potato, carrot, onion and spices wrapped in a light pastry skin and deep-fried.

Sayor Otak
Silken tofu topped with a blend of eggplant, mushroom, tomato, lemongrass and chilli paste, wrapped in a banana leaf and barbequed.

MAINS

Sayor Masak Lemak 
Malay style vegetable curry cooked with fresh chilli, lemongrass and coconut milk. 
Medium hot

Szechuan Eggplant 
Marinated eggplant stir-fried dry styles with shallot, cashew nuts and dried chillies. Served on a bed of Chinese water spinach. 

Vegetable Singapore Noodles
Vermicelli rice noodles stir-fried dry style with Asian green vegetables, beansprouts, onion, shallot and chilli.

Satay Chicken
Singaporean style marinated pieces of chicken thigh fillet, skewered, barbequed and served with a satay sauce made from fresh ground peanuts and chilli.

MAINS
Honey Chicken
Pieces of chicken thigh fillet lightly battered, deep-fried then tossed in honey, pineapple and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

Hokkien Chow Mien
Yellow Hokkien noodles stir-fried with garlic, shredded chicken, beansprouts and shallot.
