Prepare a delicious, creamy Penang style Kapitan curry in a matter of minutes. Simply seal your favourite protein in a frypan, top with The Malaya Kapitan sauce, bring to temperture and hey presto, dinner is served!

Kapitan chicken couldn’t be easier or quicker to prepare - or more delicious. A perfect dish for the end of a busy day, all it takes is 5 minutes in a fry pan to prepare a tasty and satisfying coconut based Penang style chicken curry.


350gm chicken thigh or breast fillet - sliced

80ml canola oil

1 bottle The Malaya Kapitan Sauce (180gm)

¼ teaspoon salt or to taste

½ teaspoon chilli powder (optional)


  1. In a medium saucepan (3 litre), heat canola oil and seal chicken over a high heat.
  2. Remove excess oil, add The Malaya Kapitan Sauce, chilli powder and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes over a low heat or until chicken is tender.
  3. Season with salt to taste.
  4. Serve with steamed rice.
