This recipe is quick, easy and delicious – the perfect dinner solution after a busy day. Check out some of the other variations of this recipe, using: mussles, fish or mixed seafood.

Ingredients: Serves 4

1 bottle The Malaya Laksa Paste (190gm)

1 lemongrass stick – bruised and torn into 2 pieces length ways

coriander leaves for garnish

2 kaffir lime leaves

500gm fresh king prawns (shelled with tail on)

150ml good quality coconut milk

100ml water

½ teaspoon chilli powder (optional)



  1. Combine The Malaya Laksa Paste, 100ml of water, kaffir lime leaves & lemongrass in a medium sized pot & fry on high heat for 1-2mins.
  2. Add the king prawns, reduce the heat to medium & place the lid on the pot to simmer for approx. 5 minutes or until prawns are cooked to your liking.
  3. Add the coconut milk, stir and bring to simmering with the lid on, then turn off the heat immediately.
  4. Season to taste.
  5. Serve with steamed rice & garnish with fresh coriander.
